I was born in Mexico City and began to paint at the age of 3. I represented my home state of Morelos as a young painter at the age of 7 in the DIF National Convention (a government-funded organization of Social Services for families, the largest of its kind).
My interest for the arts led me to study drawing, painting, printmaking, design, illustration, photography and computer art at the UAM-X University in Mexico's capital. I further pursued my artistic career by obtaining a Master of Fine Arts at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. I reside in downtown Manhattan with my wife Monique and my children Valentina and Julian. Because of a no pet policy in our building, our cat lives in my art studio in Long Island City.
